It's more than a bit sad, but I'm still working on my Metamorfic_moon Christmas fic. I've gotten really perfectionistic with it. In other words, since I last gave an update, I completely changed the point of view of the story, cut parts, added others and turned the entire thing on its ear. In addition to this, I still have to finish the ellusive pennultimate chapter of Night Vigil.

But instead of working on any of that...I've decided to do a meme which I swiped from ladybracknell. Enjoy!

No, in case you're wondering, I didn't make the deadline for the Metamorfic_Moon Advent challenge. No meeting deadlines has become a habit of mine. But I will finish the fic I started and I will post it here as well as on Meta.

I've been very behind on my writing posting and commenting lately. But I have been very busy. Between boyfriends, family obligations, scholarship applications and Christmas shopping, it's been a very busy holiday season.

School ended on December 12th, that was about the time I really started working on my entry for [Unknown LJ tag] Wonderland advent fic challange. I've almost finished with that as well as Chapter 13 of Night vigil. With any luck, I'll have them posted at about the same time.

Meanwhile, I went to my first ever Messiah sing along the week before Christmas. The boyfriend took me and we had massive ammounts of fun. On a related note, I auditioned for a musical called “The Quilter’s” and got in. It’ been two years since I’ve done a musical, so it should be fun. I’ve got the music with me and am listening to it as we speak. It’s very folksy, pretty and makes me feel all together happy.

Also, was accepted to the school’s study abroad program! Not only that, but I also got a scholarship for $8,500 dollars! That means that this time next year, I’ll be packing my bags and getting ready to go to London.

I am excited beyond words at this prospect. It’s amazing! And if I get to do an internship while I’m studying there who knows…

Anyway. As a little Christmas gift I’ve decided to give you a preview of my Meta fic which should be up in two days time and definitely before the deadline. Here’s just a little excerpt from the middle of the fic. I hope you enjoy!

Hello all! I've come to you once again, from a rather prolonged absence to tell you (once again) that no...no...I haven't written anything new. Though I am working on the next chapter of Night Vigil and plan to have it up before Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, it appears that my oh so orriginal Romanitic comedy fic idea is not so orriginal after all. Oh well, I'll have to make it up as I go along I suppose. And I will have that done by the deadline, I swear it!

Well... seeing as the Haloween Jumble for metamorfic_moon is finished, I don't feel at all guilty about posting the one and only fic I wrote this time around.

I really have got to start writing fics as soon as I get the ideas (or in this case the prompts) for them instead of putting them off until the absolute last second. I would get a lot more done if I would spend more time writing and less time...wasting time on unimportant things.

Well, that's that. I've finally done it. After years of dreaming, wishing and hoping for my fairygodmother to float down from her icecream haven in the sky and grant me a 3.0 cummulative GPA, It's happened. I've finally got the hours and grades necesarry to study abroad! I went down to the international studies office this afternoon and asked for an application.

If I'm very lucky, I might even be able to do my required internship in London! The woman at International studies said that she would have to investigate but that it might be possible. If it is...oh, that would be perfectly wonderful and amazing. After three years of going almost no where in college, I feel like I might finally, be getting someplace. Now all I have to do is graduate in 2009, make contacts in London, move there, and begin my career as a starving actress.

...perhaps I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. I mean, that is not exactly "that" perse. I haven't even filled out the application yet. It's a long ways to go before I storm the West end theater circut. Still you have to admit, it is something.

In fic related news, I am very nearly finished with Chapter 12 of the Night Vigil...but I always say that. This time, however, I have proof. Here is a brief preview of what you should be recieving in a little less than a week (If I don't get distracted by dreams of studying in London again that is).

A piece I wrote for rt_challange August ficathon, which may or may not go into my planned multi chapter DH fic. I'm not ashamed to say that the original idea came from Into the Woods (my favorite stephan sondheim musical). In one particular song the character of The Baker reminds me quite a bit of Remus in DH. After the death of his Wife, he leaves his new born child in order to go into hiding believing that his son will be better off without him. His father tries to persuade him not to make the same mistake he made. You can see the clip here if you like:

Allright, now that I think I've sufficiently passed through the stages of greif and have stopped walking around like a zombie, crying at the drop of a hat, and frightening my co-workers, I believe that I will at last be able to sensibly relay my feelings upon reading the Seventh and final Harry Potter book in a mature fashion...

Yes, yes, I realize it's been a long while since I've posted anything at all on this journal. I all too frequently allow real life to get in the way of fandom obsessions, and yes I do realize that I have to get my priorities in order.

Anyway,since I've been away I have taken two summer courses (English II and World Civilization I). I passed both of them so everything should, thankfully, be in order for my University transfer in the fall. Apart from that, I have spent the summer learning the dangers of workig at a movie theater (burns from popcorn oil at concesions are not fun no matter what anyone says), and, more importantly reveling in the wonder and joy that is Harry Potter!

I saw the OotP employee screening at the movie theater I work in the Sunday before it was released. It was a very exciting night for me, even though my fellow employees thought me insane by then end of it. I must say that this is the best movie of the series so far. Yes, they cut many things from the book, and they could have gone into much more detail with the actual Order scenes (these were much too short in my opinion), but overall, it was a very well paced, well scripted, and well acted film. (A particular stand out in terms of acting was Imelda Staunton as Delores Umbridge who definately deserves some official recognition for her excellent portrayal).

Needless to say I was happy to see it again on the Imax screen with my Sister and several of our friends. Yes, we dressed up. And yes I have provided you with humiliating photos so you can laugh uproariously at my house elf costume, complete with "sock donation bucket".

So, now we are gearing up for the midnight Deathly Hallows release party, which will also be masssive ammounts of fun! In the mean time, I'm trying desepreately to meet my last chance full moon fic challange deadline. I'm almos there, don't worry. I should have the entry up by Thursday. Also, Chapter 12 of The Night Vigil is comming along as well. I hope to have that up within the week, hopefully before the release of Deathly Hallows.
